Hi there !

I’m Ludo Gavillet, I’m a color/lighting designer, background artist and concept artist with over than ten years of experience in the animation industry.

I was born in Switzerland in 1988 and grew up in a peaceful countryside. Working in animation has been a dream ever since I understood it could be a real job, when I was about 6 years old.

Not confident enough, I studied medecine for a while though, but quickly understood it was a misstep. So I moved to Lyon, France to study CG animation at Bellecour Ecoles, being ready to give all it takes to reach my goal. 3 years of intense work and joy, ending with the feeling that I had definitely found my family.

As a first job experience, I joined Illumination Studios Paris to work first on short films, followed by feature films. This offered me the perfect fertile ground to keep growing, being surrounded by fantastic artists.

After a few years, I wanted to shake my confidence and force myself to new horizons of creativity. So I looked for a radically different experience. That lead me to Ireland, joining Cartoon Saloon for a couple of years where I had a very special experience that opened my mind on many levels.

I now live in Annecy, France where I can find peace and inpiration every day, wondering around the lake or hopping on mountains.

I’m mostly doing freelance color/lighting design work and background art for animation but always looking for new experiences that could force me to learn other ways and enrich my set of skills.
